«Love, Victor» – Perfect Summer Bubble (S02E01) (spoiler alert)
It’s Friday June 18th and that means new season of «Love, Victor» on Star at Disney+.
The series takes place in the same world as the groundbreaking film «Love, Simon» from 2018, which was inspired by Becky Albertalli‘s acclaimed novel «Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda».
The series follows Victor, a new student at Creekwood Hight School on his (played by Michael Cimino) own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.
When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon («Love, Simon» the movie) to help him navigate the ups and down of high school.
Season 2 picks up where the cliffhanger from Season 1 ended with, Victor coming out as gay to this family. His sister is the only one in the family that was accepting to the news and he isn’t aloud to tell his little brother that he is gay. It’s strange to Ana Ortiz (plays Victors Mum) from Ugly Betty and Devious Maids, being not so accepting – she is a great actress, it’s noting about her performance – but still strange since I’ve used to see her in other end of the scale of accepting of the LGBTQ.
