SuperVan and Very Gay Raptor

Several groundbreaking Ford Performance versions of their market-leading commercial vehicles will truly take this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed by storm.

At the world-famous annual festival, held near Chichester in the UK, the all-new all-electric concept, the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan, will be unveiled for the first time. The new extreme pickup Ranger Raptor will also be shown in pride-inspired Very Gay Raptor colours to support the LGBTQ + community.

New SuperVan gets its premiere: Extreme performance

The new Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is inspired by the recently unveiled E-Transit Custom. This is the all-electric successor to Europe’s best-selling van Transit Custom, and one of four all-new all-electric commercial vehicles that Ford Pro will introduce in Europe during 2024.

SuperVan is designed to showcase the extremes of performance that are possible with a whole new generation of all-electric Ford Pro products. On June 23, Ford will also reveal new details about the all-electric concept – the latest in a series of extreme SuperVan variants that Ford has developed over the past 50 years.

Since 1971, Ford SuperVans has been about performance and what is possible to achieve with Transit. The new Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is the beginning of a whole new era of possibilities with the electric driveline and 24/7 grid connection that comes with our new all-electric E-Transit Custom, says Global Director of Ford Performance, Mark Rushbrook.

The next generation of extreme pickups will have a hefty European premiere

The next generation Ranger Raptor will also make its European debut at the Goodwood Festival and Speed. Here, the raw paw – which is equipped with a 3-liter EcoBoost V6 petrol engine with 288 HP / 491 Nm – will try its hand at a challenging off-road and downhill race.

The extreme pickup was unveiled for the first time with a dramatic stunt earlier this year. With next-generation FOX® Live Valve shock absorbers, position-sensitive damping and a full seven driving modes, the new extreme pickup performs to the maximum under even the toughest driving conditions imaginable.

A 12.4-inch all-digital instrument panel and a 12-inch touch screen in the centre console ensure that the driver and passenger have full access to the latest digital and connected technology.

Will contribute to inclusion and collaboration with Very Gay Raptor

In addition to tackling the off-road and downhill trails at Goodwood, the new Ranger Raptor will also help Ford continue to tackle discrimination by supporting a LIVE broadcast of the company’s Tough Talk series. Here it will be discussed how the car industry can contribute to fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration with the LGBTQ + community The TV show is hosted by Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas, who was the first openly gay and professional rugby union player.

The original Very Gay Raptor was introduced in 2021 when Ford instinctively chose to use its toughest model and voice to stand up against discrimination and join the LGBTQ + community after a derogatory comment in a social media post.
