Bishop emerita Rosemarie Köhn died on Sunday 30 October after a long illness, aged 83.

She was bishop in Hamar, Norway, diocese from 1993 to 2006. Köhn was the first woman to be appointed bishop in Norway and the Nordic countries. She is survived by her spouse Susanne Sønderbo, Norwegian LGBTQ Magazine Blikk.no reports.

Rosemarie Köhn, through her episcopate, became a unifying symbol, not only in the Diocese of Hamar, but in the whole of Norwegian society. In 2006, she received the Homofryd prize during Oslo Pride for her commitment.
