The Welsh Government has vowed to promote «our values of diversity, inclusivity and respect for human rights» at the tournament

Wales will send two LGBTQ+ sportspeople to Qatar as ambassadors under a plan to highlight a «progressive, modern Wales» at the controversial World Cup 2022.

Ex-sprinter and Olympic silver medallist, Colin Jackson, who came out as gay in 2017, will be joined by former Welsh footballer, Professor Laura McAllister, a former board member of the LGBTQ+ charity, Stonewall, inews.co.uk reports.
