Germany’s iconic house outfit Milk & Sugar return with a new track for 2023 «Feels Like» – a collaboration with UK DJs Killed Kassette and SKAPES and featuring vocals from Detroit Blues singer Thornetta Davis.

Bright, upbeat and bouncy «Feels Like» provides some much-needed light to banish those January blues as Thornetta sings «It’s getting clearer, there ain’t no cloudiness in my mind». It’s an uplifting start to the New Year with superb vocals from the Queen of Detroit Blues – Thornetta Davis<, who collaborates with Milk & Sugar for the first time.

Thornetta Davis was awarded a «Living Lifetime Achievement Award» by the Detroit Blues Society and awarded a star on the Canada South Blues Museum «Walk of Fame». In 2015 Thornetta was crowned «Detroit’s Queen Of The Blues» in a ceremony by the Detroit Blues Society, with proclamations from the City of Detroit, County of Wayne and the State of Michigan. Thornetta has opened for Blues Legends such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Etta James, KoKo Taylor, Johnny Johnson, Bonnie Raitt and more.

Born out of the 90s UK rave scene Killed Kassette is a pioneer of house music with a remarkable resume, having worked with the likes of Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Chez Damier, Roland Clark and Paul Oakenfold’s illustrious Perfecto Records imprint. He’s released music across esteemed labels like KMS, Armada Music, Lapsus, Kitball, Roush, Simma Black and many more. Skapes is a newer name from the UK underground house scene, with regular support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Kiss FM he has released on labels like Data (Ministry of Sound), Toolroom, Cr2, New State and has remixed a diverse plethora of big league acts like Guru Josh, Skeptre, Sander Kleinenberg, Zero B, Stanton Warriors and Enter Shikari.

Since the 1990s, Milk & Sugar have spawned hits like «Let The Sun Shine», an adaptation of 5thDimension’s 1969 classic that became a Milk & Sugar musical milestone. Initially only a hit in Ibiza, the track made it to number 1 on the US Billboard Dance chart and the Top 20 in the UK pop chart. The single «Hey (Nah Neh Nah)” was certified five times gold and reached the Top 10 in ten countries. «Canto Del Pilón», «Stay Around» and «My Lovin» (featuring house icon Barbara Tucker) also reached the top Sales charts in several countries and are still present in the sets of many DJs.

Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Hong Kong, Ibiza or Rio – in the last two decades, Munich’s Milk & Sugar have played in every big party and festival in the world. They have received numerous awards too, including the German and Italian DJ Awards and the German Dance Award for best independent label.
