In 2022, Israel will see a record number of anti-LGBTQ+ incidents, according to a report
There was a significant increase in public anti-LGBTQ harassment and discrimination in businesses. Since the last election, a quarter of all reports have been filed.
According to The Aguda – The Association for LGBTQ Equality in Israel, Israel saw a record number of 3,309 instances of violence and hate speech directed at members of the LGBTQ+ community, with 25% of them occurring between the last elections and the formation of the new Israeli government, jpost.com reports.
The number of reports of harassment against members of the LGBTQ+ community increased by 11% in 2022 compared to 2021, continuing a trend of rising reports of harassment in recent years.
