Milk & Sugar, a well-known German house band, have returned with a new single titled ‘Lift Your Hands Up,’ which features Sudanese vocalist Ayak on vocals.

Milk & Sugar know how to create party music, and ‘«Lift Your Hands Up» is another excellent example of why they are still at the top of their game more than 20 years after their debut. ‘Lift Your Hands Up,’ another big floor filler, is pure euphoric house with an addictive soulful vocal from Ayak, the vocalist who first worked with M&S for their classic «Stay Around». When they performed together last summer at the World Club Dome Festival, they decided a new song was well overdue so went to work on writing and recording «Lift Your Hands Up».

«It’s great to be back in the studio with Milk & Sugar on this new record», Ayak adds. «We’ve toured the world for years, but this is our first record together since the pandemic, which we did remotely, and I think it perfectly captures the joy of being free».

Ayak Thiik (also known as «Ayak Tracks») is a singer-songwriter and voice producer from South Sudan. In addition to her work with Milk & Sugar, she is renowned for writing hit songs and providing vocals for artists such as Diana Ross, Cee Lo Green, James Morrison, Tinchy Stryder, and many others.

Since the 1990s, Milk & Sugar has produced hits such as «Let The Sun Shine», an adaptation of the 5th Dimension’s 1969 standard that became a Milk & Sugar musical landmark. Initially only a success in Ibiza, the song eventually reached number one on the Billboard Dance chart in the United States and the Top 20 on the UK pop chart. The song «Hey (Nah Neh Nah)» was certified gold five times and charted in ten countries. «Canto Del Pilón», «Stay Around», and “My Lovin» (featuring house legend Barbara Tucker) also charted in several nations and are still heard in the sets of many DJs.

Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Hong Kong, Ibiza or Rio – in the last two decades, Munich’s Milk & Sugar have played in every big party and festival in the world. They have received numerous awards too, including the German and Italian DJ Awards and the German Dance Award for best independent label.
