Allente is planning to increase their LGBTQ focus, but Telia and Telenor are remaining mute!
We asked three major Swedish television providers when they will support LGBTQ people in practise rather than only in rhetoric.
Allente (a joint venture between Viasat and Canal Digital), Telenor, and Telia are the three largest players in Sweden!
We questioned when these three Swedish powerhouses in delivering TV signals will increase their LGBTQ content. such as offering OutTV to their LGBTQ customers?
While Telia and Telenor are deafeningly silent, it appears that they are simply expressing their support for LGBTQ people by changing their emblem to a rainbow-coloured one during Pride Month. Is it Pink washing their brand ?
Then we came upon a person close to decision-making at Allente, the Nordic’s largest TV provider. According to our insider, Allente are now got their focus on LGBTQ content, which should be revealed in the near future. According to our understanding, this will be something for all of their LGBTQ customer in the Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden), not only Swedish LGBTQ viewers. As MySoCalledGayLife..co.uk / Gayqube.com understand it, it’s an LGBTQ TV channel! Our source are not able to reveal more details about it at this time.
While Tele 2 Sweden provides OutTV only in the Swedish market, but you are required to subscribe to a TV package to be able to subscribe to OutTV for 59 SEK per month (even when you got the basic Tele 2 cable TV package included in your rent, so then you basically pays twice for the same channels). Many programs that airs on the linear edition of OutTV are not available on OutTV on Amazon. OutTV are only broadcasting in Sweden in the Nordics.
Allente offers TV/Radio via Satellite, IP TV and streaming in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Telenor offers IP TV, streaming and Cable TV in Norway and Sweden.
Telia offers IP TV, streaming and Cable TV in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Tele 2 offers IP TV, streaming and Cable TV in Sweden.
