Jason’s music speaks to the body, mind, and soul. He conveys personal thoughts through his lyrics, radiates boundless energy in the rhythms, and intensifies raw emotion from the heart.
The New York-born singer, songwriter, performer, and creator is a consummate artist who has captivated audiences with acclaimed records, classic film appearances, and global tours. Jason’s upcoming EP «Sacred Days» now offers the most intimate connection yet.
Jason initiated the new EP project in 2023, teaming up with Allan Rich, Liz Vidal, Dorian Cheah, and Sébastien Izambard from Il Divo. Serving as a «conduit», he harnessed inspiration as it arrived. «I’ve discovered my preference for crafting from a state of utter surrender», he reflects. «Rather than arriving with preconceived notions, I let the ideas stream through me. Initially, I grappled with insecurity when composing music. Now, I am embracing the process wholeheartedly. I have granted myself complete artistic freedom».
Marking a sonic shift from Jason’s previous releases, the EP starts with the energetic lead single «Laws of Desire». Jason’s emotive vocals and cool verses transition into a dancefloor-ready beat highlighted by his high falsetto.
«It came from this unconscious place», he recalls. «I had the title ‘Laws of Desire’. There’s a sensual sexiness to it. Even though two people struggle in a relationship, they have an undeniable connection that can’t be broken. They push each other’s buttons, but this love exists between them».
On the second track «Run», a deftly plucked guitar loop envelops a head-bobbing beat while Jason showcases his versatile vocal range.
«It’s about someone who escapes accountability, is dishonest, and creates disorder», Jason explains. «Lies have repercussions. There’s karma waiting. In ‘Run’, I’m conveying my lack of trust in someone, leading me to escape for self-preservation». The EP concludes with the title track «Sacred Days» where Jason’s vocals soar over a lively beat, building to a cathartic peak in the chorus. «It’s like a surreal experience», he reflects. «There’s an organic quality to it that I adore».
Jason Gould embraced music during his childhood in Los Angeles. Among his earliest memories, he constantly spun 45’s of Dionne Warwick’s «I Say a Little Prayer» and The Fifth Dimension’s «Up, Up and Away» on a plastic record player. Around the same time, he took piano lessons, opting to craft melodies of his own rather than sight-read.
«Sacred Day’s» is out March 22nd.
