Last night, Bristol Pride celebrated a significant milestone by winning the prestigious award for Best Non-Music Festival at the 2024 UK Festival Awards. This annual event, now in its 18th year, serves as the UK’s only festival-focused awards, nominated solely by the public. It highlights the biggest and best festivals from around the country.

A Festival Steeped in Community Spirit

Andy Lenthall, CEO of the UK Festival Awards, praised Bristol Pride‘s achievements. He noted that the festival’s efforts extend beyond music and encompass a day filled with diverse activities, coupled with an iconic parade. This acknowledgment speaks volumes about the festival’s impact and the community-driven spirit of the pride movement. According to Lenthall, «This 100% fan-voted award shows that Bristol Pride has created something extra special».

Exciting Plans Ahead for 2025

This summer’s festival saw unprecedented attendance, enhanced by performances from notable headliners like The Human League and Ladytron. With a total of 40 events spread across 26 venues, the festival is not only about music but also features comedy, theater, sport, and more. Looking ahead, Bristol Pride is gearing up for another spectacular celebration in 2025, continuing to take place on The Downs, while also preparing to announce an impressive lineup of over 200 artists across five stages.
