The event was meant to showcase diversity and inclusion, but it was marred by hate speech from a group of young boys shouting derogatory remarks like «fuck pride» and «fuck gays». Ola recounted this upsetting experience, illustrating the challenges still faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

When Ola came out three years ago as Norway’s only openly gay handball player at the top level, he hoped to inspire more inclusivity within the sports world.
