Tom Anable, a member of the Human Rights Campaign Dallas/Fort Worth Steering Committee passed away earlier yesterday. Tom was also the President of Fairness Fort Worth. Upon news of his passing, HRC President Chad Griffin and HRC Board Member Anne Fay, made the following statement.
“We are saddened by the passing of Tom Anable and our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Tom spent his career making the lives of LGBT people better. He was particularly dedicated to LGBT youth in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, where he was active in HRC’s Welcoming Schools program, which strives to make elementary schools more accepting for LGBT youth and children of LGBT parents. Tom’s commitment was steadfast, as was his generosity. Tonight we suffer a great loss. Tomorrow, we will continue Tom’s work. We owe nothing less to all the people his work has touched.”
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
