Proud partner for WorldPride in Copenhagen and Malmö
When the physical and digital Pride celebrations occupy all the Nordic capitals over the summer, the doors are, as always, wide open to everyone at Nordic Choice Hotels.
With the message «Room For All», the hotel chain celebrates the diversity among employees and guests and looks forward to celebrating WorldPride from 12 to 22 August.
At the more than 210 hotels in Nordic Choice Hotels in the Nordic region, larger and smaller Pride markings will take place, depending on what the local and national corona restrictions allow. The most important message is: Nordic Choice Hotels have room for everyone. It does not matter if your name is Ali or Ole, Kari or Per, is a dog or cat person, gay, straight, bi or trans, refugee or disabled, there is room for just you. Internally, Nordic Choice Hotels wants to contribute to greater awareness and dissemination of knowledge among employees about how they can contribute to even more transgender people and ethnic minorities with LGBTQ + backgrounds experiencing equality and acceptance in society and in the workplace.
For me, the collaboration between Pride and Nordic Choice Hotels is one of the things I am most proud of, because it is about the very fundamental premises that underlie the ability of a society to function. A good society is one where diversity, equality and respect for each other are the main ingredients. I see what these values have meant to the culture of our company. Diversity is the very foundation of Nordic Choice Hotels. Nothing is more important than being accepted for who you are – no matter what gender identity and orientation you have, says Petter A. Stordalen, founder of Nordic Choice Hotels.
Nordic Choice Hotels, in collaboration with Gunn Lundemo, is holding «The Big WorldPride Eurovision Party« in The Hangar, Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport’s new venue. Here there will be draq queen dj’s, live performances from famous Eurovision stars such as Danish Emelie De Forest and Swedish Dotter, and a huge celebration of diversity. Clarion Hotel Malmö Live hosts WorldPride House in Malmö with over 100 seminars, debates and workshops. For 11 days, issues related to human rights, politics, sexuality, health, culture, work, family and violence will be discussed by associations, activists, researchers, experts and other actors.
International solidarity is the theme of Pride in 2021. The campaign has been named Europe 4all. The focus here is on the fact that freedom of expression and assembly is under pressure in several countries, and that the fight against LGBTQ+ people and supporters is used by authoritarian authorities in attacks on democracy. The consequences are great, both for individuals and civil society.
