The wait was at last over, the LGBTQ series from Netflix, Heartstopper had it’s premiere yesterday!

The Netflix series Heartstopper are based on Alice Oseman‘s series of books with the same name.

I was searching my local library online directory just for fun of it, to check what they had to offer in the category of LGBTQ books and then I stumbled on Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper book series and I decided there and then this is a book series definitely I want to read. Then few days later I discovered that Netflix was making a TV series about these books and I was very excited. I’ve since been longing for the premier.

«When gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves».

Yesterday, was a definitely Heartstopper day – I binge watched the whole series, and it was more than what I’ve dreamt it would be! This series are made for teens, but I will claim it’s a series for all ages, I defiantly could recognise the feelings to Charlie and Nick from my own teenage years. Parents should absolute see it too, they will get a good insight in what a teen might go through during teenage years questioning their own sexuality.

All actors has done an incredible job, they’ve made their characters very believable for the viewers.  I believe that Netflix has a new LGBTQ hit on their hands once again. Disney, HBO Max and Viaplay should really take notes – LGBTQ content can be a success when it is done well. LGBTQ community all around the world definitely craving for more well made LGBTQ content.

I’m now hoping for a second season, because  Heartstopper really deserves more seasons.

Thank you Alice Oseman and Netflix for making this beautiful series
