(ECADE) and its member organisations in Barbados, welcome the pronouncement that the government of Barbados is prepared to recognise civil unions for couples of the same gender. We note however that while progressive, this does not address the main legal barrier for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Barbadians.
