With just 5 days left before the November 25th deadline our colleagues at the Russian LGBT Network have today, by video, called on Irish people to rally for civil marriage equality and register to vote saying “In many countries Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans people do not have this opportunity but you have and its very important that you use it – register to vote”.

This is an international day of commemoration that memoralises the lives lost in the course of the year due to transphobia and it also raises awareness of the violence trans people can face simply because they are trans. The Trans Day of Remembrance began in 1998 in the United States in response to the murder of Rita Hester, a trans woman.

TENI Welcomes News of Settlement in Lydia Foy Case
Yesterday (28th October), Lydia Foy reached a settlement in her 21 year legal battle against the State to have her female gender recognised. Settlement was reached after the State declared a ‘firm intention’ to enact gender recognition legislation in 2015.
