Equality Hawaii, the state’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organisation, and the Human Rights Campaign, America’s largest LGBT civil rights organisation, yesterday congratulated the Hawaii Senate for passing a bill codifying prohibitions against discrimination in employment on the basis of gender identity by a 22 to 2 vote. The bill moves to Governor Abercrombie for his signature.

Arkansas High Court Puts Best Interest of Children First
The Human Rights Campaign, the America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organisation, today hailed the Arkansas Supreme Court’s decision upholding a lower court ruling that a law prohibiting adoption by unmarried couples who live together violates the Arkansas Constitution. On Nov. 4, 2008, Arkansas voters approved a statutory ban on adoption and foster parenting by unmarried individuals cohabiting with a sexual partner.
HRC Calls on Gov. McDonnell to Support Virginia’s Children in Full-Page Ad
