Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organisation, hailed a decision by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary to suspend anti-LGBTQ Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore from the bench for the remainder of his term, due to his unethical and extralegal actions surrounding marriage equality.

Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organisation, reacted to news that suspended Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore requested a court drop judicial ethics charges against him. HRC Alabama State Manager Eva Kendrick issued the following statement:

Advocates say #NoMoore, HRC delivered 28,000 petitions to the Ethics Commission from members calling for Moore’s removal. No stranger to ethics complaints, Moore was removed from office in 2003 for similarly defying a federal court order.
