Stonewall launches young writers’ competition
Stonewall, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans equality charity, has launched its first Young Writers’ competition for budding authors between the ages of 14 and 17. The competition invites young people to submit short stories and poems that support the theme of ‘LGBT equality: changing hearts and minds’.

Stonewall today publishes its Top 100 Employers 2015, showcasing Britain’s best employers for lesbian, gay and bisexual staff. Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is named as 2015’s top gay-friendly employer; in second place is Tower Hamlets Homes and Lloyds Banking Group is third. On the fifteenth anniversary of the repeal of the ban on lesbian, gay and bisexual people serving in the military all three of the armed forces appear on the list for the first time and MI5 takes seventh place.
New Stonewall Star Performers ‘take workplace equality to the next level’
Stonewall today launches a new programme to bring together top-performing organisations who have consistently demonstrated exemplary practice to support their lesbian, gay and bisexual staff. The new Stonewall Star Performers – named as Accenture, Barclays, EY, Gentoo, Goldman Sachs, Home Office, IBM and Simmons & Simmons – will lead the development of best practice in Britain and around the world.
