Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act (AHA), enacted on 30 May by President Yoweri Museveni, enshrines discrimination in Ugandan law. The AHA includes the death sentence for some consensual same-sex acts, prohibits organisation’s from «normalising» sexual diversity through inclusive programming, and requires everyone in Uganda, including health workers, to report people who might be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) to the police.

Uganda: Police Raid Queer Kampala Film Festival
Ugandan police raided and forcibly closed the Queer Kampala International Film Festival on December 9, 2017, Human Rights Watch said today. The festival featured films and documentaries portraying the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) people. Police offered no formal legal basis for forcibly shutting down the festival.
HRC Strongly Condemns Ugandan Police Raid of LGBTQ Pride Event
