“We make bestsellers” on lies and homophobic behavior
According to Norwegian HK-Nytt's source Borders Bookstores in USA replaces homosexual employees with heterosexual employees. Borders Bookstore employees are forced to lie to their customers as well.
To the Norwegian HK-Nytt (Magazine for Union of Employees in Commerce and Offices) says the no named source, that Borders Bookstores employees are forced to lie and recommend books to customers from a list that Borders Bookstores Headquarters (changes every month) has approved, even if the employee hasn’t read the book.
Borders Bookstore hates Unions, according to the Magazine, they stops any form of organisation by the employees. Borders Bookstores has hired a company called Talx to handle any demands from employees. They don’t like full-time employees either. It seems that they just wants robots.
Talx provides services to HR, Payroll, and Tax departments at organisations of all sizes in all industries including the public sector according to their website.
Employees are encouraged to tell on their colleagues, that doesn’t follow the strict rules. So no one can’t trust anyone about anything. Not a healthy workplace.
Peter Sherman at Young Workers United is not surprised about this information, according to the magazine.
In 1996 , Borders Bookstore locked out, Michael Moore, from his own book-signing, because he supported employees strike in their store in Philadelphia.
Nice words, but are they true ?
Throughout our more than 650 stores, Borders is finding new ways to help our customers create richer and more satisfying lives through knowledge and entertainment.Source : borders.com
