Gay actors should stay in the closet, according to veteran star Richard Chamberlain. Chamberlain, who kept his homosexuality a secret for decades while he worked as a romantic leading man on TV, said being gay in Hollywood put an actor at a disadvantage.

“There is still a tremendous amount of homophobia in our culture,” he told the gay magazine The Advocate, according to news.com.au.
