‘Man Man Beaver’ – ‘But Where Will the Gay Interspecies Polyamorous Beavers Marry?’
New York filmmakers Josh Sugarman and Brandon Yankowitz have joined together to launch "Man Man Beaver," the subversive, groundbreaking new comedy series produced by YaSu Media.
“Man Man Beaver” is the story of a Bi-racial Gay Couple and an angry and disorderly Beaver who are married (yes, all three of them) and become entangled with a world of problems facing such a union.
“Man Man Beaver” launched in preview internet-wide with the trailer as of November 2 2012.
On Monday November 5, 2012 the “I’m With The Black Guy” episode will be live on manmanbeaver.org.
Created by producing partners Josh Sugarman and Brandon Yankowitz, the team behind the award winning feature film Trophy Kids and the upcoming film Dear Friends, With Love, “Man Man Beaver” begins following California’s legalization of gay marriage where then, logically, every conceivable sexual pairing and so-called perversion happen. A “couple” comprised of two gay men and a talking beaver relocate to the state to finally live openly and take on idiocy and narrow-minded buffoonery each week… all while surviving the unique challenges of their married life and tackling issues that only an animated satire series can handle.
Sugarman and Yankowitz are producing the web series with an eye towards placement on a major cable network similar to the success of “Sanctuary” (Syfy) which started life as a trailblazing web series.
“We hear a lot of old men on TV shouting about how equal marriage – gay marriage – is just one tiny step from polygamy and bestiality,” Sugarman and Yankowitz said. “We could never figure out what the hell they were talking about so we decided to animate it to see what that would look like. After animating it, we still don’t know what the hell they are talking about.”
They added: “We realize that this show might be offensive to certain groups but to them we say: rest assured, we still think of the beaver as the most diligent worker in the animal kingdom.”
A project with a purpose, “Man Man Beaver” is as much about supporting the struggle for equal rights across the nation as it is about being funny, fresh and subversive every single week. As abrasive and no-holds-barred as the Beaver is, one thing is certain: when the chips are down, he really gives a dam.
