A piece of Leeds land which has become known as a gay ‘cruising’ hot spot is to undergo a major deforestation and makeover to encourage more families to start visiting the site again.

Dunkirk Hill, a triangular piece of land which sits on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, next to Armley Mills Museum on Canal Road, is the subject of an «improvement plan» by Leeds City Council.

A new consultation document detailing the proposals says that «a need has arisen to try and resolve the problems on Dunkirk Hill».
