The Annual Village Bakers ‘Great Village Bake Off’ returns to Manchester’s Pride Fringe Festival on Sunday 17th August where bakers will be working hard to drizzle that lemon and firming those buns to create a baking competition like no other. Since its launch last February, credit-card startup EqualityCard has added a considerable number of non-profit affiliates and two merchants to its list of key partners. Created by the Denver-based company, Philanthropy Ventures LLC, EqualityCard revolutionizes fundraising for non-profits by allowing business and consumer cardholders to make tax-deductible donations equal to 1 percent of their purchases to the LGBT non-profit of their choice with no out of pocket expense to the cardholders or the non-profits.

Family Equality Council Condemns Federal Bill That Would Create Adoption Discrimination
Family Equality Council today denounced a federal bill introduced last week in Congress that would permit providers of adoption and foster care services to refuse to work with families with whom they have personal, religious, or moral objections. The legislation is spearheaded by anti-LGBT groups the Family Research Council and the Heritage Foundation, and threatens to undo the progress made on behalf of LGBTQ families over the last several years and harm some of our most vulnerable children.
