Eurovision : Australia’s knockout on UK
Australia with Guy Sebastian's 'Tonight Again' did a real knockout on UK's Electro Velvet's 'Still in love with you'.
Australia with Guy Sebastian’s ‘Tonight Again‘ got 196 points – that gave Australia 5th place – not a bad result at all on their first attempt in Eurovision. I hope that we’ll see Australia again in Sweden next year as well – Australia should be permanent in the Eurovision, they gave a new dimension to the competition.
UK’s Electro Velvet’s ‘Still in love with you’ got only 5 points – that gave UK shameful 24th place – that is very bad by a nation that creates big international artists like they have their own factory for pop artists.
UK are on of the big 4 countries that automatically are qualified to the Eurovision’s grand final – and it seems that BBC is not taking the Eurovision seriously – thinking like we are in the grand final anyways.
BBC should look to Sweden how they do it – engaging the viewers to decide between 28 song with different artist with different sound. They have 4 semi-finals – from each semi finals 2 gets a ticket to the grand final of Melodifestivalen and 2 get a tickets to second chance finals – from the second chance final 4 acts will get tickets to the grand final. 12 acts are in the Melodifestivalen grand final – and the winner goes to Eurovision. The winner is decided by televoting and an International jury.
