Kerri Watt Joins The Overtones On Their 27 Date Tour
Scottish singer-songwriter Kerri Watt is delighted to confirm she’ll be supporting The Overtones this summer on their recently announced 27 date tour.
Kicking off in the Republic of Ireland’s Cork Opera House on June 1st and finishing at the Liverpool Guildford on July 9th, the tour follows previous supports with Nina Nesbitt, and Ward Thomas, and will once again showcase Kerri’s unique blend of country, pop and folk.
“I’m so excited and very grateful to be opening for The Overtones,” says Kerri. “I can’t wait to get out on the road with them. Touring and playing live is my favourite part of what I do and the venues on the tour will be some of the biggest I’ve ever played. I’m looking forward to sharing my music with a whole new audience.”
Signed to Warner Music Entertainment, The Overtones’ new tour comes on the back of four consecutive top 10 albums in the UK and three previous sold-out headline tours.
The tour will follow the release of Kerri’s new EP, ‘You’, out via 25 Hour Convenience Store – the record label from The Libertines drummer Gary Powell. ‘You’ is a development on the Californian pop sound showcased on the first EP, with a step forward in terms of production and songwriting – it’s the sound of an artist finding her sound.
‘You’ follows Kerri’s debut release, ‘Who’s Lovin’ Me Now?’ released late last year with support from Radio 2 and BBC London, and press coverage everywhere from The Sun, Daily Record, Digital Spy and Shout Magazine to Record of the Day, Glasgow Evening Times and STV. Since then, Kerri’s been working nonstop, with a solo tour, Autumn festival appearances, a store opening and brand tie in with Whitestuff, countless writing sessions, trips to the US and Barcelona, and a full UK support tour with fellow Scot, Nina Nesbitt and X Factor’s Stereo Kicks.
