Gay couple ‘banned from bring your dad to class day’
Mother Kerri Hughes says teachers at her son's school told her she couldn't bring her partner along for the day.
A lesbian couple have complained to a school after claiming they were banned from a “bring your dad to class” day.
Kerri Hughes was told her nine year-old son Atticus could take his father, grandfather or an uncle along for the day.
The youngster’s father, who is separated from Miss Hughes, could not make it because he is working.
The 39-year-old and partner Claire Natall, 41, then asked if one of them could go instead but say staff at Blean Primary School in Canterbury, Kent, told them no.
The couple said they feel “discriminated” against and are angry there is no equivalent “bring your mum to class” day.
