The British rugby player promotes a positive image of homosexuality in the world.
ANDDOS (Italian Association against sexual orientation discrimination) applauds and shares the coming out of British rugby player, Keegan Hirst, and invite him to Rome for having promoted the campaign of education to the differences in rugby: the sport can be an important messenger of values against homophobia: we hope that the other athletes will follow the example of Keegan for the homosexual community.
He broke the taboo in this sport. Some people who are homophobic don’t even know a gay person. It’s all about preconceptions. The presence of homophobia also in rugby has not been extinguished. Keegan Hirst is the gay rugby player who chose freedom. Freedom forever: he is an example for all people, not just for sportsmen.
Mario Marco Canale (picture), Italian President ANDDOS, says no to homophobia and shares the coming out also in sports, supporting those who want openly reveal his homosexuality. The family is very important for every person, especially for gay people: with a strong family around him, Anton Hysén has grown into a confident and aspiring young man who quickly realised that his life would never be the same.
So ANDDOS wants to live in a society where all people are respected and considered without differences. With equals rights for all people! We are a non-profit association founded in July 2012: we promote a positive image of homosexuality in society, as well as to uphold the civil rights and the freedom of LGBTI community.
Our mission is to support the creation of safe environments where are people can find protection, openly reveal their sexuality and, through interaction with others, find the courage to “come out” and participate in the social life.
