Sir Ian McKellen : gay men don’t win Oscars either

The veteran actor made his comments after no ethnic minority actors were nominated for the big acting awards for the second year running, sparking a boycott and calls for reform.

Sir Ian McKellen, 76, who is gay and a co-founder of Stonewall, expressed sympathy with black actors for being “ill-treated” but added that the question of diversity went further than race.
