For the past 13 years in the UK, February has been LGBT History Month. This year in support of the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality Just A Ball Game? (JBG?) has the ‘Time for Action’ exhibition on display at Bradford City Hall 15th Feb.

Alongside this we are also hosting educational LGBT inclusion workshops with Bradford College 16th-17th February and a charity/celeb football match on 19th February.

On 19th February, the select JBG? side will play for the UNISON Pride Cup 2017 v AFA Charity team (Awareness for Autism ) at University of Bradford’s 3G pitch. We have LGBT players and ex-professionals lined up alongside several soap and drama TV stars to raise awareness on LGBT inclusion and visibility within the game.

Councillor Richard Dunbar says, “As an elected member in Bradford who has always stood up for equality and works with Just A Ball Game? to promote LGBT inclusion in sport, I was delighted to be asked to make a cameo appearance in this charity match.”

For the weekend’s events JBG? have teamed up with the League Managers Association , Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Premier League, BedsFA and the Scottish FA, BBC Sport, JBG? partner clubs and grass roots teams and fans.

We are asking football managers and coaches from both professional and non-league clubs across the UK in both the men’s and women’s game to show support by wearing a Rainbow Ribbon during the weekend games 17th-20th February 2017.
