The Danish Supreme Court gave their judgement Thursday in the case with the State for the introduction of church weddings of same-sex couples.
Danish Supreme Court upholds High Court ( Østre Landsret ) judgment, and hereby that the canonical marriages of same-sex couples would be contrary to the Danish constitution.
What does the judgment mean in practice?
Thursday’s ruling means that the law on religious marriage of same-sex couples are valid. There will be no changes to the Act, or the marriages concluded.
