Discussions on legalising partnerships need to resume in the Lithuanian parliament, the country’s prime minister and speaker of the Seimas say.

«In my opinion, it would be better if the Seimas started this debate. Now, when the Seimas keeps trying to push this discussion somewhere farther under the table, it seems as if there’s some fear of coming to a conclusion that we have solutions that do not harm anyone’s interests in any way», Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė told rt.lt reporter on Sunday.

The Parliament Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen said an amended partnership bill would be put before the Seimas during the spring session.
