
Southampton gay couple allegedly assaulted after night out at the Edge
A gay couple have said they are scared to leave their home after allegedly being assaulted in Southampton.
Greg Miedzwiecki, 30, and his partner, Lee Trussler, 28, say they were attacked while waiting for a taxi after a night out at the Edge.
The pair, who were with a friend, said three men spotted them cuddling in London Road at around 3am. They started shouting homophobic slurs at Greg and Lee before punching Greg in the face, the pair claim to dailyecho.co.uk.
The homophobic attackers left the scene, when Miedzwieck called the police. «Police came and took us to hospital, he had loads of bruises, and a massive cut on his tongue».
Miedzwieck are also disappointed with the police, the incident happen 1 May 2022, and they have yet not taken the couple’s statement. Spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary has told dailyecho.co.uk they will take the couple’s statement on 19 May 2022.
