Stockholm Pride, the Nordics’ largest Pride celebration, celebrates 25 years in 2023.
Over the years, Stockholm Pride has become one of the biggest events in Sweden, not least through the closing parade through Stockholm. The parade is usually followed by upwards of half a million spectators. Ahead of the 25th anniversary, the board of Stockholm Pride has taken a number of completely new measures to increase interest and commitment to the festival week.
This week it was decided that the production company Unlimited Stories, in collaboration with Stockholm Pride, will make a number of major film productions as well as a televised gala during one of the Pride Week evenings.
Now we are laying the foundations for further developing Stockholm Pride. Through the film project and the fact that we make one of our evenings a gala evening for television production, we make Pride Week more accessible to all of Sweden. We strongly believe in the film projects and are convinced that this will strengthen Stockholm Pride’s brand in the long term, says Fredrik Saweståhl, chairman of Stockholm Pride.
Stockholm Pride will focus on product development of various events through, among other things, the film project and the gala evening. The board has appointed Sebastian Navab, CEO and founder of The Labyrinth Public Affairs as creative director, Sebastian will be responsible for contacts with TV and film companies as well as product development.
It feels safe and good to have an external professional who knows the media area. Sebastian has solid knowledge and a drive that we appreciate, says Fredrik Saweståhl.
Stockholm Pride is an important event for Stockholm, Sweden and Europe. It is an honour to contribute as creative director and work with product development of Stockholm Pride 2023. I am convinced that the entire Pride team together will make the anniversary year 2023 the best Pride Week ever, well worth remembering, says Sebastian Navab.
