LGBTQ+ newspaper Seattle Gay News won’t close after all
Earlier this summer, Seattle Gay News, or SGN as it is known, was looking for a buyer.
After the longtime proprietor George Bakan passed away, his daughter Angela Cragin assumed leadership of the publishing company and saw it through the epidemic. Cragin, a Tricities resident, said she had to sell even though she was able to keep items from sinking.
Mike Schultz, a seasoned leader in management, accounting, and administration, is now on board.
In an opinion piece that appeared in SGN, Schultz stated, «I became acutely aware of the value of staying connected as a community through a medium we trusted, one that understood, informed, and uplifted our nuanced humanness». «I believe that maintaining the SGN as an ongoing entity is essential to achieving that goal».
Schultz declared he was going to take over the company, mynorthwest.com reports.
