The Romanian society is not ready to support the rights of same-sex couples, as stated by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in response to a ruling from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

The ECHR decided in May that Romania did not uphold the rights of same-sex couples by not recognizing their relationships. This ruling may lead to policymakers having to increase protections for the LGBTQ2S+ community.

Romania decriminalized homosexuality in 2001, but same-sex couples are still not allowed to marry or have civil partnerships, ctvnews.ca

So  Romania are still a homophobic country, you should avoid to visit if you are friends of the LGBTQ community !
