Major LGBTQ event postponed by White House due to low air quality
Due to the bad air quality caused by the wildfires in Canada, the White House moved a significant Pride Month celebration from Thursday to Saturday.
The LGBTQ community and singer-songwriter Betty Who were scheduled to attend a South Lawn event that President Biden was to host. Although a thick haze over much of the Northeast is forcing many indoors, the White House described it as the largest Pride event in White House history.
Shortly after Mr. Biden’s noon Thursday meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the White House announced the postponement, washingtontimes.com reports.
