European Parliament calls on Kosovo and Serbia to step up efforts on LGBTI rights
Today, the European Parliament adopted two of its annual progress reports for candidate and potential candidate EU countries. MEPs have assessed the rights of LGBTI people in Serbia and Kosovo, and recommended the countries to improve the situation.
New EU accession reports: LGBTI rights in the Western Balkans and Turkey
This Tuesday, the European Commission’s published its annual progress reports on accession states’ progress towards EU Membership. The reports include important and extensive information on the situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in those 7 countries.
Tatchell to join Belgrade Pride this Sunday
Human rights and LGBT campaigner Peter Tatchell will be attending this Sunday’s (20th September) Belgrade Pride in Serbia. The event will take place despite it still not having been given police permission. A number of previous Pride marches have been declared illegal and attacked by neo-Nazis and ultra-nationalists.

LGBTI Intergroup MEP heading to Belgrade Pride
After three bans in a row since 2011, a Pride March is scheduled to take place in Belgrade this Sunday. From the European Parliament, Belgrade Pride slogan Terry Reintke MEP will march along for equality and human rights.
MEPs condemn attack LGBTI activist in Belgrade
This Saturday, a German LGBTI rights activist was attacked in downtown Belgrade. Three suspects have been arrested by Serbian police.
