HRC Lauds Introduction of Uniting American Families Act
The Human Rights Campaign, the America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organisation, today lauded the introduction of the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill, sponsored by Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY), would allow U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents in same-sex relationships to sponsor their partners for immigration purposes.

Inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act Introduced in U.S. Senate
The Human Rights Campaign, America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organisation, hailed today’s Senate bipartisan reintroduction of an inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would create federal protections against workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

ILGA-Europe urges Hungarian parliamentarians to uphold European human rights standards
Next Monday, 18 April 2011, the Hungarian parliamentarians will have their final vote on the proposal for a new Constitution of Hungary. Various provisions of the draft of the Constitutions already caused serious concerns from various European institutions and human rights organisations. ILGA-Europe joins these concerns and urges the Hungarian parliamentarians not to support those provisions which do not meet minimum European human rights standards.

Kobe Bryant Apologies for Gay Slur
In a pre-game phone call to HRC president Joe Solmonese just moments ago, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant apologised for using a homophobic slur. Bryant expressed understanding and regret for how his words were hurtful and could be used by some to discriminate.

£1,000 has been raised in aid of the Japanese Tsunami victims following a charity football match between Leftfooters FC and the cast of West End musical Wicked.
