104 parade performances are ready to be part of Oslo Pride parade today Saturday 25 June. The record from 2014, when the Oslo Pride hosted the Europride, is then beaten.

Oslo Pride 2016

After nine days of solidarity, unity, free concerts and more at Pride House and Pride Park and about 200 different events around Oslo, is finally ready for the big Pride Parade today, Saturday 25 June, 2016.

We look forward to all-time festival, and a strong political mark on today. The involvement of the whole Oslo Pride and especially the parade is at record levels. After Orlando and in solidarity with all those who do not have the opportunity around the world, we lifts the rainbow flag so high we can on today, says Chairman of Oslo Pride, Lars Arnesen.

In 2015 there were close to 25,000 participants in the parade, and 100,000’s of people cheered the front in the streets of Oslo.

We are excited about how many will be part of the pride parade this year, and it’s expected that it will be set a new record. All are welcome. Gay, friends of queer, family and everyone else. Join in and show your pride – join in and show solidarity, says Arnesen.

(We think it’s sad that Oslo Pride is not providing easy access of press information on their website in English for the media outside of Norway. If it had we would have written a lot more about Oslo Pride).
