Unilever ice cream keeps it’s name referring to homosexuality
After several weeks of news coverage, a public poll run by News Corp stating that 2% of the poplar poll says yes - Golden Gaytime ice cream is an outdated name and its offensive.
And a petition to change the Golden Gaytime ice cream name Streets/Unilever will keep its outdated name.
«We are proud to keep the Golden Gaytime name». «The meaning behind the Gaytime name has not changed since its iconic debut in 1959 – it is, and always has been for everybody to enjoy, no matter who you are or who you love. However, we are very mindful that the world has changed since the first Gaytime was made, and culture and language has also evolved over time».

Our question are, if 2% of the popular poll stating Yes – it’s an outdated name and it’s offensive. If your signatures submitted to Unilever isn’t enough. then what will be enough to end this outdated name ?
Clearly Unilever is still out of touch with 2021 and we ask what has Unilever done for LGBTQ rights in Australia and in the world since 1959? There are many countries in world, LGBTQ persons can be jailed or sentenced to death – what have Unilever done to deliver a Golden Gaytime in those countries ? Unilever are represented many of worst countries for LGBTQ rights. When you are referring to sexual-orientation in your product name that belongs to the LGBTQ community, we think it’s fair to expect Unilever are working hard for the community around the world.
Keep signing and sharing the petition. chng.it/SM8DdpqB
