In a refugee camp in Jordan – 21 years old Hamood is living. He is gay and fled from Syria because of his sexual orientation. But the life in Jordan is almost as difficult.
To NRK Hamood says he lives alone, because after that my family and I went from Zaatari camp I have not seen them. Since my brother knows I’m gay, he refused me food stamps and threatened to kill me, says 21-year-old. Hamood does not want to show his face or tell his real name for fear of reprisals NRK reports.
Now he survives on selling sex through secret internet ads.
– One time I came home to a man, but there waited six of his friends who all raped me in turn. They know of course I could not tell anyone because then I had just been sent straight back to certain death in Syria.
