Prime Minister David Cameron ‘ignores gay students in sex education letter’
Campaigners have criticised David Cameron for failing to mention gay students in his reply to a letter calling for schools to teach pupils about same-sex relationships.
The Same Sex SRE (sex and relationship education) group wrote to the three main party leaders about the need to provide information for gay students in sex and relationship education.
While Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband agreed with the campaign’s aims, Mr Cameron failed to mention gay students in his reply, and said it was down to schools to “consider the needs of their pupils”.
