Hotel owner to target ‘gay and swinging community’

The owner of a Folkestone hotel says he hopes to pull in punters from the “gay and swinging community” to help keep his business afloat.

Jon Huxley, who runs Westwood Ho in Clifton Crescent, was blasted at last week’s Development Control Committee meeting for running his premises as a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) without permission.

“We have plans to attract tourists from the gay and swinging community for short breaks and weekends of adult fun.”

Residents claim the property in Clifton Crescent has become a hub of anti-social behaviour after starting to accept people from Shepway District Council’s housing services until they can be housed properly.
