In 2006, an alternative event was created for the annual Syttende Mai (Seventeenth of May) to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day in Ballard.

Syttende Gay 2011 – 5th Year Anniversary
Seventeenth of May, the Norwegian Constitution Day is Ballard’s biggest day of the year with one of the largest parades outside of Norway. Syttende Gay is here once again!
